The Boat

The Boat

The Boat is a riveting movie of a small boat, built from the parts of an old dehumidifier, leaving the dock at beautiful Lake Halice in Urbandale, Iowa. The boat encounters wildlife amidst it’s journey, and goes far out into the lake – only to return to the very dock that launched it. Very compelling.

Lars Bergstrom is one of the least known of all of the lesser known filmmakers, yet the depth of “The Boat” will grab you by the heart, like no other movie that you have ever seen, as you watch this modern-day “prodigal son” return with his pirate flag intact.

“One of the best dehumidifier-boat movies that I have seen this season.” – Andy Schultz

  1. Cinemagraphy and music were impressive. Special effects a bit disappointing (I think I saw strings in some of the later shots.) That said, it’s still the best I’ve yet seen from Lars Bergstrom.
