Frank Lloyd Wright was born on June 8, 1867.
In June 1943, he received a letter from the art advisor to Solomon R. Guggenheim, asking him to design a new building to house the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Both Guggenheim and Wright would die before the building’s 1959 completion.
Cedar Rock is a usonian style home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright along the Wapsipinicon River in Iowa. It was several years in the planning and under construction for two years before it was finished in 1950. This architectural gem is one of only 19 signature homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, whose initials were embossed on one of the tiles.
