Close your eyes. Now fast-forward 25 years. Open your eyes. What do you see? Humanity has moved through the agrarian age to the industrial age and now, the information age. With what moniker will we label our future? Experts debate where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, what the future holds in store, and if it really is possible to forecast the not too distant future.
You can use current trends, such as Moore’s Law, to predict certain aspects of the future. The problem is, I can remember old quotes such as “If current trends continue, we’ll need all of downtown just to store punched cards.”
My three predictions for the next 25 years:
I predict that many current trends will not continue.
I predict that unexpected things will happen.
I predict that 25 years from now, a huge safety pin in the nose will still not be accepted as proper formal attire.
