The Panasonic CQ-TX5500D ($950) is the only car stereo that we know of that features a built-in vacuum tube amplifier ~ and emits an orange glow that you can see through the middle window when you’re rocking out. It also sports old school meters that have needles instead of LEDs.
This amazing car stereo has been around for a while, but I just found out about it. One more thing to add to the LONG list of things I want.
Great posts, Joel.
Hope you don’t mind…I stole this one for my site. (I gave credit to you, though.)
I don’t mind. Take some every day if you want to.
I think the vacuum tube is the best feature of this car radio, since so many people eat in their cars now.
Spill some fries? No problem. Extend the built-in vacuum tube and tidy up a bit before your next date. I’m surprised none of the articles showed anyone doing this.
