Situated on the shores of the mighty Raccoon River, Principal Park is a very pretty, functional ballpark. When it was built in 1992, it was acclaimed by many baseball aficionados as being one of the most attractive parks in the minors.
Sunny, 72 degrees. Good day to take in an Iowa Cubs game at Noon. We were standing in the ticket line when someone gave us free grandstand tickets. After trading them for seats at the front of Field Box X, we got hot dogs and something to drink. What a great day to be at the ballpark.
Have to disagree, the most attractive ballpark in the minors would be the lovely John O’Donnell Stadium in Davenport, IA.

It has a river view and the trains blow the whistle as they go by. The perfect place to see a ball game. :)
Rose,
I quoted two lines from the website.
The third line is this: “And while there are many nice things about Principal Park, it’s not the nicest stadium in the minors, nor it even the nicest stadium in Iowa — I’d much prefer attending a game at John O’Donnell Stadium.”
It sounds like a fun place with a lot of character. Now might be a good time for us to embark on another Eastern Iowa Adventure.
It is a great place and there is lots more to see here.
Did you just love the cable car. We like to eat ice cream at the top and admire the view.
I have not yet been to the Field of Dreams, but it is on our list.
Thanks for all the links to great things to show my family.
My husband loves the model car. :)
