Too bad you need to spend $1000 on something that doesn’t necessarily tell you as much as collecting your own family history and interpreting the Mendelian genetic information it provides. It includes studies which are irrelevant and has too few cases to make any useful conclusions — irregardless if they’re ranked one star or not. They miss obvious biomarkers for things like breast cancer (perhaps because some company funding them didn’t want them to upstage their own private, pricey test?). Let’s not forget that there’s currently no legislation protecting your rights if the genetic information gets released somehow (hacked site?) — and then no insurance company won’t want to insure you. I could go on and on…
That’s a very good point about insurance.
