Lake Harriet

Lake Harriet

Every summer weekend people sit in orderly rows on the north shore of the lake and listen to music. They did it last year too. They did it seventy summers ago. And seventy summers before that. Minneapolis hadn’t yet been named when people first came to this spot. For that matter, it hadn’t been settled. Indians came here before anyone else, camped on the northwest corner, and fished.

Carbage

Carbage

You know what they say – one man’s meat is another man’s floppy fibreglass spoiler.

But thankfully Top Gear is here to ridicule the clueless by bringing you the best chavved-up motors and tasteless tat. Welcome, then, to Carbage.

Being over 50, I’m not a big fan of the loud, buzzy, softball-sized exhaust on many sported-up cars today. Most of the cars on this site are carbage, but there are a few that I like, and the Jet Powered Beetle simply DOES NOT BELONG ON THIS LIST!

I also have a distaste for most art cars, although the Aerocar doesn’t seem as bad as the others.

Full disclosure:
I have to admit, I put aftermarket wheels and tires on my truck.

Changing your car is ok, if you do it right. For example, you can keep the exterior mostly stock looking and add those little touches to the interior.

Messy Eater

Jo Messy Eater

It has come to my attention that I’m a messy eater, which wouldn’t be such a problem were I not so often clothed at the scene of the crime.
~
My final ode to Jackson Pollock is accomplished via intense downward pressure on the titanium-enriched cannelloni, which takes wing and flies like a marinara-soaked arrow to my heart. But first it hits the jacket over my heart, wetly.
